ALBUM COVERS

When You Went to Art School, but Just Played Music

Overview

Quiet in Elba Album Cover

Context:

An album cover for "Quiet in Elba," an ambient music project. The goal was to create a visual identity that mirrors the music’s mood, while giving the lettering enough presence to work as a standalone mark.

My Role:

I designed the album cover from concept to final artwork, including the custom logotype, monogram element, gradient treatment, and overall composition.

THE TEAM
Composer: Kelly P. Clark

Result:

An album cover that feels as quiet and expansive as the music inside. The flowing letterforms and airy gradient create a sense of calm and openness, while the oversized "q" gives the design a distinctive visual signature.

Reflection:

This project reminded me how lettering can carry mood and atmosphere.
