Me…in a nutshell

I grew up in Baltimore (a quirky yet charming city with a thriving art and design scene, and problems like any other city, but somehow completely different than any other city, ). Being a Baltimorean shapes how I see things and how I interact with them. I look for the unusual, the imperfect, the thing others have cast off; in these things I find beauty. I attended the University of Delaware and graduated with a BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA). I’ve worked at many types of studios David Ashton & Company, a boutique design studio; the University of Maryland, College Park; Wake Forest University, where I worked on recruitment and special events; RTKL; a multinational architecture firm; and IQ Solutions, Inc., a public health communications firm to name a few. I have 30+ years of experience.

I've been drawn to lettering and design for as long as I can remember. I create custom work for clients who want lettering and design that captures their imagination and gives them a voice in the process.

My Philosophy & Work

Good lettering can define who you are and what you stand for. It reaches audiences with a human touch.

I believe the work that resonates the most comes from conversation, from really understanding what you need, because it’s not always what you think you need. My process starts with research and dialogue. I want to create something that captures your essence and truly feels like it came from and belongs to you. Every project is unique, but they all share one commonality: they're designed to meet your specific needs.

My Aesthetic

My style is a combination of punk energy and elegant details. It’s a juxtaposition of bold letterforms with delicate, elegant scripts. Strong color palettes and soft textures. Grit and grace in the same piece.
