Lettering that lives between bold and beautiful
Me…in a nutshell
I've been drawn to lettering and design for as long as I can remember. When I was ten, I saw The Rolling Stones logo and thought, I want to make things like that.
I grew up in Baltimore (a quirky yet charming city with problems like any other city, but somehow completely different than any other city). Being a Baltimorean shapes the way I see things and how I interact with them. I look for the unusual, the thing that isn’t perfect, but if you look closely, it really is. After bouncing around for a few years (Winston-Salem, North Carolina; North Bethesda, Maryland; Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania), I find myself back in Baltimore, with my husband and three dogs.
I attended the University of Delaware and earned my BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA). I’ve worked at many types of studios, boutique design studios, Universities, a multinational architecture firm, and a public health communications company, to name a few. I have 30+ years of experience. I now work as a graphic designer and lettering artist. Typography is always on my mind, the signage that stops me in my tracks, the logos that grab my attention, and the typographic layouts that mesmerize me.
I create custom work for myriad clients, and anyone who wants lettering and design that captures their imagination and gives them a voice in the process.
I have worked on many meetings, events, galas, and weddings including: several NIH meetings and events, University of Maryland, College Park’s Bold Vision Bright Future Gala, Wake Forest University’s Honoring the Hearn Legacy Gala, and several Weddings and parties.
My Philosophy
Good lettering can define who you are and what you stand for. It reaches people with a human touch.
I believe the best work comes from conversation, from really understanding what you need, because it’s not always what you think you need. My process starts with research and dialogue. I want to create something that captures your essence and truly feels like it came from and belongs to you.
The best projects happen when clients value collaboration, trust the process, and are open to feedback. That's when we can create something that really resonates.
My Aesthetic
I call my style punk elegance. It’s a juxtaposition of bold letterforms with delicate, elegant scripts. Strong color palettes and soft textures. Grit and grace in the same piece.
I'm influenced by designers like Alexey Brodovitch, Paul Rand, and Giorgia Lupi, artists like Barbara Kruger, Gilbert & George, Romare Bearden, and Robert Rauschenberg, fashion designers like Alexander McQueen and Vivienne Westwood, architects like Mies van der Rohe, and musicians like the Rolling Stones, Patti Smith Group, The Clash, Bruce Springsteen, and so many more. I'm drawn to work that's provocative and refined,
My Work
I design custom lettering for branding, event/wedding suites, and so much more. Every project is unique, but they all share one commonality: they're designed to meet your specific needs.
I work with small businesses that want to make a lasting impact, couples who want wedding materials that reflect their personal style, and companies that need logos that uniquely convey their brand. I love working on projects where meaning matters—where the lettering is part of your story.
