Case Study: Family T-Shirt

Context

The client wanted a custom t-shirt design for an upcoming family gathering. The mandatory text for the design was simply the word Lucky. The goal was to create something stylish, memorable, and unified that her family members would feel great wearing together while making memories.

Role

  • Brainstorming and conceptualizing different design directions (ranging from traditional luck motifs to retro lettering).

  • Executing digital vector assets and selecting color palettes.

  • Presenting mockups to the client to guide their decision-making process.

Result

Ultimately, the client was presented with two primary stylistic directions for the final shirt layout. She chose the fat-bottom script option. The design was printed on dark apparel, resulting in high-contrast, eye-catching family gear. She loved the final product, the entire family proudly wore their matching custom “Lucky” shirts and tanks during a sunny beach vacation.

Reflection

This project was a great reminder of the power of lettering. Giving the client clear choices allowed her to find the exact vibe that matched her family's personality. Seeing the final photos of the large group lined up on the beach made it entirely worth it!
